The Cream Tea Company
The Story of The Cream Tea Company
From humble beginnings, having worked in the food industry in and around London for a number of years, we upped sticks and moved to Dorset to pursue our dream of owning and running a tea room. We landed in Dorset with two very small children ten years ago, and have thrown ourselves into ‘Dorset Tearoom’ life.
During the first phase of the pandemic in March 2020, having had to close the Tearoom, we were asked by a number of local (and not so local customers) whether we could deliver our Scones & Cream Teas to them. Yes!
We did a few ‘Cream Tea’ days, which were really popular. The orders flooded in, and our children delivered to the houses of our local villagers – it was a real ‘pick me up’ for a number of Customers who were self -isolating at the time. They were so popular that others further afield wanted a slice of the action and the idea was born. How could we deliver our superb Cream Teas to the Nation?
We sourced the packaging, looking at solutions to keep our wonderful Dorset Clotted Cream at its best during transit, some of our very lucky friends got to be the recipient guinea pigs in trialing the delivery method!
And VOILA! as they say, the rest is history.
We are very proud of our County, and the wonderful local produce that Dorset affords. All scones are made in our Dorset kitchen by ourselves, the Clotted Cream is from the wonderful herd in the Blackmore Vale and the Jam and Chutney is lovingly made in Bridport.
